Some families know a great deal about their roots; others know very little.
This site is an attempt to record what I've learned about our family history. In these modern times, families tend to be scattered
all over the country, if not the world. One of the goals of this web site is to help our family stay connected even though
we live far apart.
As the granddaughter of James and Emma Smallwood, I was curious to find
out where and how our family came about. I researched our family history through communication with elder
family members, James and Emma's Family Bible, along with endless hours of searching family records through the; census bureau,
social security registration and death records. My curiosity has given the decendents of James and Emma a better
understanding of their beginning.
